To get someone's email and phone number from LinkedIn:
- Check their Contact info on the profile. It's free, but it usually only shows details to connections.
- Use a contact finder extension like CookLeads. Open the profile, click Reveal Contact Info, and get a verified mobile and email.
- Have a list of LinkedIn URLs? Upload them as a CSV (up to 1,000 per file) and get the contacts back in bulk.
You found the right person on LinkedIn. The title fits, the company fits. But there's no email and no phone number, just a Connect button.
This guide shows every practical way to get a person's email and phone number from their LinkedIn profile, starting with the free methods and ending with the fastest ones. Each step is short and works for prospects in India and abroad.
What LinkedIn shows (and what it hides)
LinkedIn is a networking site, not a contact directory. Every member decides who can see their email and phone number, and most keep them private.
- Email: usually visible only to 1st-degree connections, and only if the person allows it.
- Phone number: rarely added at all. When it is, it's normally visible to connections only.
- Sales Navigator: helps you find and filter people, but it doesn't give you their email or mobile number either.
So for most prospects you'll need one of the methods below.
3 free ways to find contact details on LinkedIn
Try these first. They cost nothing and take a minute or two.
1. Check the "Contact info" section
Good to know: if you're not connected, you'll usually only see their profile link and maybe a website.
2. Read the About section and their company website
Founders, consultants and freelancers often write their email in the About or Featured section because they want to be contacted. If not, open their company website from the profile and check the Contact or Team page.
3. Guess the work email, then check it
Most companies use a fixed email format. If you know the person's name and the company domain, try the common patterns:
firstname@company.comfirstname.lastname@company.comf.lastname@company.comorfirstnamel@company.com
Never send to a guessed address without checking it first with an email verifier. Bounced emails hurt your sender reputation. This method also won't give you a phone number.
The fastest way: a Chrome extension
A contact finder extension adds a button to the LinkedIn profile you're viewing. One click, and you get a verified mobile number and email without leaving the page.
Here's how it works with the CookLeads LinkedIn phone number finder:
Reveal a whole search page at once
On a search results page, you don't have to open profiles one by one:
| Where you are | Profiles per click |
|---|---|
| A single LinkedIn or Sales Navigator profile | 1 |
| A LinkedIn search results page | 10 |
| A Sales Navigator results page | 25 |
You're billed per profile that returns a mobile, never per click. For a full Sales Navigator workflow, see our Sales Navigator mobile number guide.
Already have the LinkedIn URL? Paste it
If someone sent you a profile link, or you saved URLs earlier, you don't need to open LinkedIn at all.
- Log in to CookLeads and go to Lead Enrichment → LinkedIn.
- Paste the profile URL into LinkedIn Profile URL, for example
linkedin.com/in/priya-sharma-example. - Click Cook Your Leads. The mobile and email appear with a copy button.
Sometimes you'll see "Still cooking". That means the data is being prepared, and you'll be notified when it's ready.
Have a list of LinkedIn URLs? Use bulk upload
For event lists, exported leads or a spreadsheet of URLs, bulk upload saves hours:
- Upload a CSV with up to 1,000 LinkedIn profile URLs per file.
- Keep one data type per file: LinkedIn URLs only (DINs go in a separate file).
- Download the results or push them to your CRM.
See how it works on the bulk enrichment page.
What it costs
Most tools charge you for every lookup, even when they find nothing useful. CookLeads works differently:
You use 1 credit only when a mobile number is found. Email-only results are free.
Open the same lead again within 12 months, and it costs nothing, for your whole team.
Every new account gets 5 free leads. Monthly, yearly and pay-as-you-go plans are on the pricing page.
Every contact goes through our 7-stage purification engine before you see it, and coverage spans 120+ countries.
What if the person isn't on LinkedIn?
Many business owners in India, especially in manufacturing, trading and family-run companies, have no LinkedIn profile. Two options:
- They're a company director? Find their DIN on the MCA portal or a registry site, then get their contact from the DIN. See our DIN number search guide.
- Need a whole list built for you? Our researchers build custom B2B lead lists to your brief.
Is it legal to find contact details from LinkedIn?
Finding a business contact to reach out about a relevant product or service is common B2B practice. Keep it responsible:
- Use it for B2B outreach only, such as sales, hiring or partnerships, not personal or consumer use.
- Follow local rules, such as India's DPDP Act, and respect Do Not Call and opt-out requests.
- Stop when someone asks you to. Anyone can ask CookLeads to remove their data through our privacy rights request.
CookLeads only works on profiles you choose to open. It doesn't message people or act on LinkedIn for you. This is general information, not legal advice.
